Hanna Nielson

Hanna Nielson is a writer-artist-filmmaker and freelance editor currently based in Belfast. She is also Editor in Chief of The Belfast Review. Her short stories, poems, and artwork are in Martello Journal, Sci Fi Ireland, The Honest Ulsterman, The Ogham Stone, and more. Her articles on BAME and feminist representation in media have appeared in Ms in the Biz and Pasadena Weekly. Her screenplays have placed highly at Sundance Screenwriters Lab and elsewhere, and she holds film festival awards for documentary filmmaking. Her debut literary magic realism novel Did You Pay the Piper Man? is available widely (Ui Neill Press, 2025).​
